Corrosion Testing
Maritime Surveyors performs corrosion testing using specialized testing equipment and instruments to pinpoint problems. Our testing procedures and equipment allow us to perform testing of your vessel in a straightforward, efficient manner. We have also developed a corrosion questionnaire that you can fill out so we can gather as much information about your particular corrosion problem before we get to the boat. This saves you and us time which saves you money. We find the problem and let you know how it should be repaired.
Ross Hubbard along with Mike Cheresnowski perform the testing. Ross and Mike have been performing joint corrosion tests for years. Ross is a marine surveyor and Mike is a marine electrician. They have teamed up to do this specialized corrosion testing because of the overwhelming demand for accurate and detailed analysis of corrosion issues. Very few marine professionals are qualified in or are interested in doing this kind of testing.
We travel to all harbors and ports in California but have emphasis in Southern California.
MORE
We have all heard someone on the dock or another boater say “this marina is hot” or “the boat next to me is causing problems”. And after a few minutes talking about it, eyes glaze over and it all sounds like black magic. I know that 30 years ago when I first had corrosion problems on my own boat that’s what I thought. And because there are so many different circumstances that relate and can cause corrosion, it can be complicated.
So what is corrosion and what does it look like? Photos of marine corrosion on boats.
